What HanziStroke Is
HanziStroke brings Chinese character lookup, stroke order animations, and writing practice together with vocabulary study and review. Our aim is to help learners move from looking up a character to practicing it regularly.
Whether you are learning your first characters, following an HSK course, or preparing worksheets for a class, you can combine on-screen practice, printable resources, flashcards, and dictation to suit your routine.

Our Content and Sources
Different parts of HanziStroke use different sources. We combine stroke data, HSK vocabulary references, and learning content with checks and ongoing corrections.
Stroke Order Data
Our character animations use Hanzi Writer and its stroke data to show how characters are written, one stroke at a time. The same data supports our writing practice and printable stroke guides.
HSK Vocabulary
Our HSK 2.0 lists use vocabulary data from the Chinese Test website, while our HSK 3.0 lists use the published HSK syllabus. Textbook vocabulary is organized separately by course and lesson.
Readings, Meanings, and Examples
Character and word entries bring together pinyin, English meanings, and examples to support study. Some word and example-sentence content is drafted with AI assistance, then checked and revised through our content review workflow.
Review and Corrections
Our content workflow includes review steps and automated checks for readings, word associations, and required learning resources. We also run audits and correct issues over time. If you spot an error, please send us the page link and the detail that needs attention.

You can start with free character lookup, stroke order animations, and selected worksheets. No account is required to browse characters or download the HSK Level 1 character worksheets.
