About the HSK Standard Course
HSK Standard Course (HSK标准教程), published by Beijing Language and Culture University Press, follows the six levels of HSK 2.0. The series has nine textbook volumes: one each for levels 1, 2, and 3, and A and B volumes for levels 4, 5, and 6. HanziStroke groups both volumes of each higher level into a single course entry.
Every lesson page lists its words in the order the textbook introduces them, with pinyin, part of speech, and an English definition. Use a lesson before class to preview new words, after class to review homework, or later to look up a word you met while reading.

HSK Standard Course FAQ
Which HSK Standard Course book should I start with?
Choose the book that matches your class or exam target: book 1 for HSK 1, book 2 for HSK 2, and so on up to book 6 for HSK 6. If you are starting from zero, begin with book 1 and work through its lessons in order.
Do the lesson lists match the official HSK vocabulary list?
They follow the textbook rather than the exam list. A course book also teaches words outside the official HSK 2.0 list, so a lesson can include extra entries. For exam-only coverage, use the HSK 2.0 vocabulary lists.
Does HSK Standard Course follow HSK 2.0 or HSK 3.0?
This HSK Standard Course series follows HSK 2.0. The New HSK Course is a separate textbook series for HSK 3.0. Choose the series that matches your textbook, and check your exam’s syllabus when planning exam preparation.
How can I practice a lesson after reviewing the words?
Practice each lesson’s core vocabulary with writing for stroke order, flashcards for recall, and dictation for listening. Proper nouns are listed as reading references and excluded from practice. Some practice modes for later books are part of HanziStroke Pro.
Can I download HSK Standard Course vocabulary PDFs?
Yes. Open a lesson and use the PDF button above its vocabulary list to download a printable lesson list. These downloads are vocabulary study aids, not copies of the textbooks or workbooks. Use the original learning materials for dialogues, readings, grammar explanations, exercises, and audio.
